An essential tip to learning French language
It involves doing something you enjoy repeatedly😃
I belonged to the group of people who didn’t believe that learning trough songs was something to invest too much in. Firstly, I find it hard to find a song I actually like to sing. Secondly…well I only had one reason.😅
One early morning while in Togo (I was visiting for academic reasons), I was scrolling through YouTube searching for a song to set the mood. I am not overly dependent on songs before I work but this morning, I just felt like it.
I stumbled on this song and Wow! It was so great that I didn’t work for the next one hour because I was so determined to learn the lyrics of the song. It paid off! I learned new vocabulary like how “se balader” is the same as “se promener” (to take a walk). I was also able to enjoy myself while learning the new words.
When you enjoy something, you learn it faster. I believe this is true because we often tend to do repeatedly what we enjoy till it becomes a part of us.
You can take advantage of this as you are learning the French language. Learn a song, watch a short clip, read a paragraph of a book.
I encourage you to listen to the song and if you love it, go ahead to learn the lyrics. If you don’t you can still learn the lyrics😏 and remember to use your dictionary for words you do not recognize.
A plus!
